Serve as Member of Board of Directors (and formerly as President, President
Elect, First Vice President, Second Vice President, and Secretary) of American
Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) South Florida Chapter (1986 - present)
Wrote article initially published in the Florida Bar Journal's May
1992 special edition on immigration law, and reprinted in every edition since
1995 of West Publishing's law text, Immigration: Process and Policy,
by then-INS General Counsel Alex Aleinikoff, Prof. Hiroshi Motomura and Prof.
David Martin.
Plan curriculum, and serve as lecturer, writer and moderator in Florida Bar
continuing legal education programs on immigration law (1987 - present); e.g.
“Some thoughts on Labor Certifications” in The 24th Annual
Immigration Law Update (Tallahassee: The Florida Bar, 2003); “The

(previously known as Law & Leading Attorneys), a series of surveys
identifying leading lawyers in various specialties.

Served as expert for University of Miami information systems class in which
the course project was designing and implementing a computer system to manage
an immigration law practice.
Appeared on local news and public affairs shows concerning immigration.
Served as pro bono counsel in successful handicap discrimination lawsuit
against Dade County.
Served on the Florida Bar's Youth and the Law Advisory Board.
Served as chairperson for vendor concessions for the annual South Miami Art
Festival.
